DOVER-FOXCROFT - A collection of photographs taken of the North Woods in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by a noted Dexter photographer will be the subject of a traveling exhibit.

The Maine Humanities Council recently awarded a $1,000 grant to a committee of the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council to fund the exhibit of photographs taken by Albert Call.

"His photographs can show us not only what has changed in the wild areas of Maine, but also what has remained basically unchanged over the past 100 years," said Patrick Myers, cultural heritage director for the council's cultural committee.

The exhibit will be hosted by the Abbott Museum in Dexter in June before traveling to Dover-Foxcroft, Guilford and Greenville over the summer.
