People for years wondered what was in that satchel. It had to be something very special for Bubby to never let it leave his side. After he died the mystery was solved; it was his shoe lasts. It was said he could use it as a mold to make shoes for either foot. Erma Bentley believed that at some point a shoe cobbler who made Bubby's shoes probably told him these lasts were important, and to never let them out of his sight. Bubby's sister is shown here with one of the many braided rugs she sold around Dexter.
