"Scene on the Owlsboro Road opposite Les Cousin's. Left to right: David Gilman, and Hookey, Fred Bailey with team. Near center: Will Hayden and Ira Hayes. Back of Ira Hayes: Mr. Booker. At right of Mr. Booker: a little back his eight children. Two women sitting down: Mrs. Bagley and Mrs. Hersey. Drilling rock: Abner Starbird. This picture was in the clearing of this land which developed in a nice field and a large barn was soon built to house the hay and crops by Will Hayden." The above was written on the back of this photograph. It was found in Rosa Pendexter's home on Dustin Street in 1970 and is presently in the files of the Dexter Historical Society. This site is near Ted Dube's camp on the Owlsboro Road.
