"The score stood 93 to 41 and it was supposed to be good baseball, too!!" This was the headline from the June 15, 1874 edition of a Dover newspaper after the Dover team, the Resolutes, were defeated in a five-hour game in Dover by the Dexter White Caps. The White Caps were Dexter's first baseball team. Organized in 1871, they played twenty games through 1874 and were vistorious most of the time, frequently in games with scores in double figures.
