Willis W. Jackson loved horses. They say as a child he would crawl in the horse cribs to feed them apples and pet them. He spent most of his years on the farm now owned by his grandson, Alfred Lee in Silver's Mills. He loved to drive fast and one evening, after attending a Grange meeting with his future wife, Lillian Pearl Grant, he proceeded to race home. This upset Pearl so that she refused to go with him, got out of the wadon, and went home with Ralph Jackson. Willis is shown here driving his father Charles Jackson's team around 1917.
